Cap-toe'd oxfords are worn with city suits and, if you wear a suit most days, you should have at least two pair. Personally, the cap toe is my favorite style. I have two pair in black as well as dark brown, chestnut and tan versions and they get as much wear as anything in my wardrobe. G. J. Cleverley made the very conservative pair in the photo.

As I tell the guys that come in the store - if you're starting a man's wardrobe, you need three things, first and foremost: 1) a clean, well-cut, conservative navy suit, 2) a nice, well made, true-fitting white all-cotton shirt and 3) a pair of black cap-toes. As I call it, the black cap-toe is to a man's closet as sugar is to a grocery store - you just have to have it!
That's sound advice.
