Suits and Socks Installment IV

Socks don't always have to complement a man's trousers. Consider these light blue cotton hose (picking up the color in a blue broadcloth shirt) worn with a tan glen check suit and fox suede Adelaide brogues.

That's a great look! Those are beautiful brogues. Well done.

I really like this look. I still match my socks to my pants and use a plain white pocket square but that is only because I lack the know-how to branch out with my color schemes. Once I develop a sense through your website, old Apparel Arts magazines and observing the employees at Paul Stuart and the Ralph Lauren Mansion in NYC, I will be well on my way. Hope you're enjoying your trip.

The first steps in branching out from a plain white pocket square are cream and navy solids in silk, linen and cashmere. Then you might try a navy polka dot in silk. But you can well dressed your entire live without ever venturing past navy and cream.
