Sunday Tweeds

I've had half a dozen requests for more "what am I wearing" style photos since the Rumpled in the Country picture. So, since the muse is rather lazy today, here's a shot from earlier this year. It's a cool but sunny Sunday afternoon. We've just finished lunch and are about to drive home with the top open. Which is hopefully a satisfactory explanation for the scarf and gloves worn with a very loud suit.

I'm not very pleased with the shoulders and chest on this jacket. I think the make is fine for lighter cloth for summer, but less suited to heavier fabric. My next tweed will be a gun club jacket from Peter Harvey this Fall.

That's an excellent look!

Your site is very informative. I've recently become very interested in clothing. I've always maintained an "Anglo-Trad" look, but I'm interested in expanding it.

Unfortunately, living in Orange County, CA, I don't have many opportunities to wear tweed, cords, brogues, Shetland sweaters, winter coats, etc. I suppose most of my wardrobe will be a variation on a summer theme, incorporating linen, light cotton, and other lighter fabrics. Currently I am interested in acquiring a linen suit and a khaki cotton suit.

Many thanks for a helpful website.

I have a question about the fit of the jacket. I noticed that your lowest button is exposed, rather than being half-covered by the buttonhole side of the jacket. Do you find the jacket too tight, or is this simply because of your posture while the shot was taken.

It's that way deliberately. The lower button is not intended to be buttoned as the quarters are cut slightly open. This is not at all unusual - a Neapolitan style jacket, for example, has a much more dramatic vee-shaped opening below the waistline.
