More "Underwear"

Conservatively dressed? Despite the dark brown suede shoes, only the lilac ground on the necktie might draw a second look. A man in a conservative profession would probably choose a solid navy necktie but his double bead striped jacket could still conceal the unexpected.

In this case, it was covering a pair of braces that by themselves are reason to keep one's jacket on at all times.

Wonderful look, as always. Nicely tailored, just the hint of devil-may-care, and then the braces!

Do you have the straps shortened? If so, how is it done? I imagine the silk is cut and resewn?

I wind up wearing the buckles around my collar bone, but I've always been too nervous to take my Thurstons and Trafalgar Limiteds to someone to have them shortened.

Cheers,
Chris

The braces are from Thurston which as you know sells them in sizes. A medium happens to fit me without modification.

That said, the construction of the boxcloth braces(and only those - I don't know how to have the barathea modified) makes them amenable to easy shortening by a shoe repair shop.

I've had a couple done by a shop that hadn't done them before, and you couldn't tell the shape of the shortened straps from the originals.
