This photo was taken unexpectedly by our friend Constance at an early dinner with her husband Gaël and her children last week in San Francisco.
Constance is the men's shoe buyer for Sarenza, a French language shoe shopping web site that offers selected models by a variety of makers including some, like Pierre Corthay and Santoni, that are difficult to find online. There is currently a sale with models such as Corthay's Arca discounted from 850,00 € ($1,170) to 595,00 € ($819) including VAT. If, as they should, the site deducts VAT for U. S. buyers the Corthays would be very well priced at roughly $656.

Does Sarenza ship to the United States?
I went to their site and tried to register but the only option for the country was France.
I also sent them an email.
I wrote about Sarenza without conducting any of the due diligence that I do when writing about a source essay, so let us know what you learn from them.
Thanks for the tip. Hopefully they do ship to the US.
Do you have advice on sizing?
Just received an email reply stating that at the moment they only serve the metropolitan French area:
Cher Monsieur,
Nous avons le regret de vous informer que nous livrons exclusivement en France métropolitaine.
Et vous vous suggérons si vous en avez la possibilité de faire passer votre commande par des amis résidant en France métropolitaine qui vous la réexpédieraient ensuite.

I just checked their site but, alas, no Corthays.
I'm surprised they will not ship to the U.S. though that may have something to do with their deals with their manufacturers. I'll get clarification.
