Suits and Socks, Installment IX

More tweed. Glen check suit accompanied by dark burgundy brogues. In between, tomato red socks with blue polka dots. Worn with a light blue glen check shirt, pinned charcoal cashmere necktie and dark silk paisley square, the combination doesn't attract attention unless I'm seated for a shoe shine.

great look, Will. Wish I could see the rest of it. Yesterday I sported a blue pinstripe suit, whote shirt with silver cifflinks, silvery houndstooth tie, white linen pocket square and black lace up shoes. To minimize the severity of the black shoes with the blue suit, I wore solid burgundy socks. I'm still not convinced that my socks were proper because all they did was break up the pants and shoes, they really did not relate to anything above the waist. Your combo is great though!

Hi Will,
I'm with John -- could you put the rest of your clothing on a dummy and post the pics? Sounds like a great combination. Is the shirt a smaller glen check?

I'm afraid the only available dummy was the one wearing the clothes when the photo was taken, but I will see what I can do.

I suppose you don't have to put the whole outfit on again, but for future reference it'd be really nice to see the whole thing.

But what would Jeeves have to say about that?

I am always reminded of Albert's comment in The Birdcage, "One wants a bit of color"

Not the the shirt and necktie but see my post "Sunday Tweeds" from this past July 5.
