I might never have considered the combination of bottle green with gray flannel had I not read about it in one of Alan Flusser's early books. But I tried it, liked it, and I've been wearing it ever since. And it seems particularly apropos before Christmas.
It's a combination that benefits from socks that complement the necktie. And semi-brogue shoes. In my opinion, a flannel suit needs either brogueing or the texture of suede to balance the look.

I agree -- I like bottle green with gray (I have a bottle-green candy-striped shirt that always seems to get worn with gray), and I like using the socks to echo the dominant color of the tie. Where did you get the socks, by the way?
The socks are Marcoliani merino from Kabbaz.
Very nice.
I observed Luciano Barbera in similar assemble and was sold on the idea. You're right about suede, it does add texture ...
I love the cut of the jacket. Would you mind letting us know who made it?

Will, I recently tried this look because I have a similar green tie that I never seem to wear, grey flannel suit similar to yours, and the incredibly elegant paisley pocket square in a similar color. But I didn't have a clean white shirt for some reason so I grabbed a cream shirt (or a very soft yellow if you want) and I was surprised at how it just came alive with the grey suit.
Other than a a very light blue, I notice you don't wear other soft subtle hues in yellow, cream, lavender, and pink. I'd be curious to see a piece of yours on pairing these subtle colors when a white shirt could be too harsh as a contrast.
Thanks, and I hope you dont mind being imitated...
Well I'd hardly call lavender sublte but I wear all of the shirt colors you mention and more.
