Not Quite Right

I came across this image of a model wearing Borsalino's "Cobra" hat the other day. The hat is one of those unfortunate creations with the maker's label on the band (it's barely visible in the photo). Too bad. If they'd tucked the silk square a little further into the guy's pocket and put a Milan style straw on his head he'd have looked rather dapper (it's a black suit but it's striped which makes it OK in my book).

As it is, it's not quite right.

I see what you mean, Will. I feel the same way about Barbour shirts. Their shirts have such nice tartan and tattersall patterns, but the Barbour label affixed to the edge of the chest pocket renders them unwearable. I believe the same is true with Façonnable shirts.

I am not a fan of the hat, and it ruins anything that is right with the look.

I was this close to arguing, until I looked up a picture of a milan straw and compared. You win again.

Casanova, are we having a contest? :-)

What do you think about the overlapping collar on the shirt and the skinny tie, Will?

It seems to me that the ONLY thing right is the striped suit.

Haha, no contest. It's in my nature to take the opposite side of a debate, but you keep saying things that I agree with. You win arguments before I can start them. :)

Wait - what's wrong with a black suit?
