Leaving for the country garb on a Friday. Black and white wool odd jacket, cashmere and linen vest, blue twill shirt, Drake's pocket square and a Hober necktie. Below the waist, dark gray flannels and brown slip-ons.

As a kid growing up in Sacramento, about 25 yrs ago, this is close to what I would have envisioned a sophisticated San Franciscan looking like. It's a perfect ensemble for the Nob Hill-Napa axis.
This is what I call casual... nice look.
I'd turn my head to look, study and smile...and maybe make a sincere compliment.
We should compliment each other now and then...
Very nice, Will. This is a sophisticated look. Very well done.
I very much like the way that you've folded your (silk?) square. Understated and elegant. I tend to go with the stuff and forget method with silk, but I may have to take a little extra time tomorrow.
How warm is the vest? It's starting to creep up here and I hate the thought of losing a layer as inevitable as it is, and would like to put off the minimal look as long as I can.
I like the look, Will. It was hard to tell the color of the tie from the photo. It seemed to be gray. But a quite check on Hober's website reveals it is tie #24 which is described as olive and white. Very nice.
Very nice indeed. Will, I would like you to please clarify something for me. Is an odd jacket what some people refer to as a sport coat? Or did an odd jacket belong to a suit at some point?
Odd jacket means the jacket does not match the trousers. It's essentially the same as sport coat but I prefer it when the jacket is not intended for wear during sport (the original odd jackets were designed specifically for sports like riding and shooting).
Thank you, Will. Before I came upon your blog, I really didn't know much about classic men's clothing even though I have always loved to dress well.
