Wall Street

This vidcap from the film Wall Street makes me imagine a scene that was left on the cutting room floor, where Gordon Gekko calls Alan Flusser, who did the wardrobe for the movie.

"Yeah Alan the cuffs are fine but the collar doesn't fit. Get somebody down here and fix it!"

What do you think of sleeve cuffs Will. My tailor Mr. John Hitchcock of A&S has them on a SB vested suit. Fits him very well.

medvald,

Check out Will's October 8, 2007 post for a suit he had made with sleeve cuffs.

Just got back from a funeral this past weekend. If you think the SF Opera is a sartorial disaster, funerals are even worse. I saw a guy wearing a dark bue shirt with white polka dots, a matching pocket square and a matching tie. The suit was 15 sizes too big - and that was the least of its problems. I couldn't even look at him without wanting to burst out laughing.

Will,

are the cuffs on your Mahon suit rounded, or are they straight edged, like in the post? I hope you had them rounded!

Well I think the suit cuff is a personal option. Never had one on mine thought. Maybe try it out the next time i get one tailored.

Oh and check out this new blog seems good- http://www.runwayrules.blogspot.com/

As an avid reader of this blog, I ask commenters to please stop spoiling it by posting these overly affected and downright mocking comments. I say spoiling, because the author has never posted a message in such tone himself, and thus these messages don't fit here.

People who take an interest in knowing how to dress should spend an equal amount of time at the way they act, converse and at how to be as polite as possible in general. The first is useless without the latter, which by the way is less true the other way around.

I actually like Flusser's rounded sleeve cuff and how high cut the sleeve opening is.

Could someone please explain what's wrong with the collar? I'm still developing an eye for this...

Collars are supposed to hug the neck. This one is standing half an inch off of it.
