I Love This Tie

I love this tie. A green natte weave (that's a combination of cotton and silk), it brightens up a sunny morning without being over the top.

Sometimes you just have to show your love.

That's a great look, Will. Ben Silver is actually sold out of that tie.

Pardon me the question, but what is the function of the second 'buttoniere' on the lapel? Is it for a fob watch intended?
Marc.

It's a three button roll to the middle button and you're looking at the top buttonhole.

Very nice, Will. I am a fan of your tie knots-a fantastic four in hand. I wish mine came out like that every morning.

Quick question: If I have a three button jacket, could I make it roll to the second button without major re-tailoring work?

Will, the tie's color and texture are most elegant. As well, the spread of the collar is exquisite. Robert Whittaker, no?

Smii, no.

CG, maybe. Depends on the jacket. You'd need to take it to an alterations tailor and get their opinion.

I had been under the impression that a four-in-hand knot was normally to be teamed with a narrower spread, such as an Ainsley or forward-point collar. Interesting to see the alternative approach!

Superb Will. Can you share some details on the suit and shirt?

Thanks

Will,
When wearing a two button jacket I always button the top. What is the "rule" for three button?

Will said...

Jeffrey, there is no single rule because three button jackets can be cut differently. A three roll top is usually buttoned in the middle but may have the top two buttons closed. A three roll 2 ,ay only be buttoned in the middle - it's essentially a two button jacket that has an extra buttonhole.
