Even though we've begun discussing fall these days, when it's time to head to the country the weather must be taken into account. The other day that meant a panama hat, short sleeved linen shirt, linen trousers, cotton socks and a pair of unlined slip-on shoes.
Add a cigar, as I did shortly after I left, and the look would not be out of place on a tobacco plantation. The driver's seat of a convertible makes for a comfortable but considerably less romantic image.

With all due deference, those items need to be taken in considerably. Please post this, as you might be wont not to, as since you bravely put yourself out there, the intent should be in the name of style and not narcissism. This should be a topic of discussion. I find the pants much too baggy and the rise much too high. The effect of all the cloth (along with the enormous amount of cloth on the shirt sleeves) makes you look sloppy, while normally you look quite dapper.
All of my trousers have the waistband at the natural waist, not the hips. But they are not baggy - they are distorted by my leaning against the console to my rear. :-)
Nice slacks, Will. Relaxed but handsome ensemble.
I love the hat. Frankly, I don't know why so many men like side closures on the pants. I understand that if you are wearing a 3 piece suit, the vest doesn't look right with a belt underneath. However, I think a belt on a pair of casual slacks is a great accessory to break up the lines of the shirt and trousers.
I don't like the look of a belt buckle showing through the open quarters of a jacket if I were to wear the trousers with one.
