Flannels and Socks

Lightweight flannel trousers for early autumn, with lime green socks and polished chestnut monks. Another example of how green and gray work well together.

This was one of those rare days when I actually took a reasonable photo in natural light. Wonder of wonders, the colors are true. Note to self: Must do more of it.

Fantastic combination - I have been after some grey flannels sice seeing them on Fred Astaire some time ago!

Does anyone know where one can find a decent pair, unfinished, of the peg at a reasonable price?

Thanks,

Will... very much in agreement on the natural light (particularly indirect natural light so that the colors don't get bleached out). The photo and colors look great.

Very nice Will. I've a new MTM gray flannel suit in the works and am eyeing some green accessories.

What I've realized is that gray generally goes well with most strong colors. It sort of de-fangs pinks, lime-greens and other colors that would, on their own, be a bit on the loud side. The great harmonizer, it was called in a book I read. Probably Flusser, but it's too late at night to look things up.

Interesting color choice. I like it.

Is there any chance we can get you to take these photos from a different angle? Snapping it of your legs oustretched isn't the most flattering angle, nor does it give the most realistic impression of what your ensembles look like.

Perhaps setting the camera on a low-to-the-ground tripod or stack of books and taking the shot from the side, hiking your cuffs enough so we can see the socks? Or from a waist-high tripod, aimed downward?

I'm no photography expert, but I think such angles might do you and your style more justice.

Will-
I have to agree with Scott Monty on this one. Another angle would be great. In addition, it is valuable to see the full ensemble whenever possible. Thanks for sharing with us.
