This being the end of summer as we've discussed, it's time to start putting away some summer things and taking out their fall replacements. And that's reminded me that I need a few more garment storage bags.
Now when it comes to putting suits away for the season, I like plain canvas bags with a side zipper, sized for one suit or jacket and trousers per bag. The canvas breathes so the suit stays aerated, the bag protects from dirt and insects, and one suit per bag means the bag and hanger don't stress a closet bar and are transportable without too much effort. Simple perfection.
Of course, nothing is perfect and in this case the problem is that it's hard to find a plain canvas suit storage bag. A couple of years ago I had to break down and buy some logo'd, plastic sided bags out of need but as you can see they spoil the row of otherwise plain tan canvas in the storage closet.
I am more optimistic this year because my friend Kirby of The Hanger Project is working on a new line of suit storage bags to complement his hangers. With luck, they'll be ready by the time we're ready to take out our summer suits once again.
For now, away goes the seersucker and cream linen, and out comes some gabardine.

Will - You can find garment bags very similar to the ones in your photo at The Container Store at the address below. Mark Shale also sends you out of the store with a similar light weight breathable, fabric garment bag.

I got these a while ago for suits:

And one for my tails as well:

Quite simple and 100% cotton.
