Eclecticism

Navy wool serge suit, grape pencil stripe on white shirt, brown oxford weave necktie and a navy, purple and gold paisley silk pocket square.

Not a completely successful color reproduction as we were experimenting with light but the eclectic combination comes through and that's the point.

Very nice looking combination, Will. Sometimes brown ties are tricky (I have 5 but never wear them) but here it looks good.

Single breast suit with peak lapels...Very "Anthony Eden".

Nice autumn combination, Will. It really works. I love the tie. Today would be a perfect day to wear black, though, or so I thought. ;)

Will, I am a young man who is looking to have my first bespoke shirt made. The problem is I don't know where to go to get messured. I know you have suggested My Tailor when they come to my area but the closest place they go to is 2 hours away in Tulsa,OK and frankly being a college student I don't have time. I was wondering if you have any suggestions on where I could go to get messured. Thank you

DC, check the membership of the CTDA for the nearest retailer. They are likely to offer a made to measure service.

Will: If I could follow up on that My Tailor question.

They are coming near me this weekend. I know that you recommend the Thomas Mason Gold and Silver fabrics. You also mentioned that you get them made to Turnbull & Asser specifications. May I ask what those are?

And I promise: I won't order shirts with pockets!

Thanks again for the blog. What a treat!

Chris, it's been years since I paid attention to the specs of my shirts so I can't be of much help.

This is a great combination. It's a look I've used often with gray and blue suits. I have brown hair and somehow very little gray...the brown tie just works. Everyone here wears solid blues or charcoal gray wool ties, and I love how brown just adds a superior touch of elegance, IMHO.

I would love that shirt and ps.
