Magenta and Green

In color theory, colors across from each other on a color wheel are visual complements. The combinations, such as orange and blue, are useful additions to the gentleman's palette, and the autumnal pairing of magenta and green is to me among the more interesting of them.

Here, dark red Sloop tassel slip-ons from SW1 are combined with dark green Marcoliani socks and a pair of lightweight corduroy trousers for the weekend.

Will SW1 ship shoes to the US by mail order? I am not very familiar with the brand.

Will,

Could you give some brief insight as to Argyle Socks? Back east it's getting pretty cold and I tend to affiliate chilly weather with Argyle.

What are some of the general thoughts on argyle with suits versus slacks and lace-ups versus slip-ons.

Thanks!

Will I like those shoes and tired to email SW1 in order to get a couple of shoes from them. I never heard back. Any help would be appreciated short of going to Milan.

Will, excellent use of complementary colors, especially in an area of dress that color is often neglected!

What a great blog, fully of such beautiful clothes and wonderful tips. I love the colour of those shoes. My feet are too big to carry them off!

I will be back to have a look when I have some more time. Tut tut browsing when at work! My dream is to be able to buy a Savile Row Suit. Have you seen the Anderson and Sheppard( http://www.anderson-sheppard.co.uk ) and Savile Row Bespoke websites? For someone like you they should be a real treat. Fully of amazing photo’s the sites as so rich in colour and detail. Well worth a look if you want to day dream for a while.

SW1 does ship to the US, and responds quickly to email in my experience. Contact them at info@sw1.it.

These were the colors of the women's suffrage movement. My late wife collected some Suffragette memorabilia and had some quite exquisite emerald and amethyst jewelry. I love the combination; I have an Oxxford forest green hacking jacket I am fond of pairing with ties strong in magenta. As a matter of fact, I wore just such a combination to the AAAC get-together in NY last Spring.

Will -- I was wondering how the sizes run on SW1. Did you order the same size as you take in Edward Green? I contacted the store regarding the Northampton Goodyear welted models. They were very helpful and suggested my size would be the same as in EG. Before ordering, I would like to ask you about your personal experience, as I know you wear EGs. Thanks very much.
