Some days the shirt can do most of the work. Here, a maroon and gray stripe does the heavy lifting in combination with a navy serge suit, a blue grey ottoman necktie and a white linen pocket square. Worn with cordovan colored shoes.

Will,
I have been looking for a solid tie like that for some time now to wear with my blue suits but with no luck.
I really like this look. Well done.
The shirt does the work... but that great single breasted with peak lapels suit helps a lot!
By the way, that´s my favourite pocket square (white linen) and my favourite fold (slightly angled, pointing the shoulder, not too arranged)
Sorry, but I don´t like the tie :-)
And it's very nice to see SB peak lapels done right too!
I'm thinking of ordering a navy suit with peak lapels. Seems like a really versatile garment.
One of my favorite looks! And I never tire of it.... I have at least 7 of these ties in various shades. You need several spares. They just attract stains and it drives me crazy. Lot's of talcum powder helps to remove most stains.
Check out Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn in Charade. He wears this blue suit/gray tie combination, and I liked it the minute I saw it.
Will,
Very nice suit - who made it?
Louche, thank you. It's from my line.

Will,
I love the combination. The colors are subtle enough to match very well, but still distinct enough not to blend and make the ensemble monogamous. I love it when men can really craft an outfit that fits this balance. It's a rare thing - and one that is much admired.
