It's difficult to be completely original when it comes to men's clothing. Witness the man on the right in the 1937 Esquire illustration titled "Tan with Gray," and then look at the respected designer Brunello Cucinelli and his contemporary work in the photos.

Cucinelli himself demonstrates an agreeable way to accessorize a tan jacket with a white polo and white cigar cases as well as one of his gray sweaters. These are light cashmere knits that are a fine weight for wear under a jacket in the spring and fall.
The Cucinelli website shows us a pleasant setting for more tan and gray. The only disconcerting element will be the hard-to-remove grass stains on the white trousers.
Try tan with gray this spring.

I love Brunello Cucinelli cashmere. It is so expensive that I wait for it to go on sale. even then they aren't inexpensive. Unfortunately, is casual sport coats are too small and he doesn't make a long so they are a no go. I like the styling and the cloths.
That's a great look for spring.
I've been trying to decide whether to plow my dwindling capital reserves in to some new summer items or starting a completely separate spring wardrobe. The whole idea of a separate spring wardrobe has me thinking I might seriously need therapy. Though a tan cashmere jacket would cost less than a shrink.
I also like Cary Grant's take on Gray and Tan in 'To Catch a Thief' I think his light gray jacket and light tan slacks look great in the sun.
