Unseasonably Warm

Spring had hardly begun when we were hit with a couple days of unseasonably warm weather. Mind you, I am not complaining. The temperature brought out a side of the wardrobe that was stored away for the darker months and that is always a good thing.

In the photo, a bespoke fresco jacket and trousers are worn with a blue on white graph check shirt, tan Edward Green oxfords, a Sam Hober Irish poplin necktie, and a Ralph Lauren Purple Label pocket square. Hidden under it all are a pair of cream cotton socks.

Thought you might have brought a little of the famous 'Pacific Colour' back with you from your holiday old boy?

There were two kinds of days during that trip - healthy ones that were socked in and sunny ones that I spent in bed with food poisoning.

Oh, hard cheese old boy! Though I'd rather meant in the sartorial department.

As you know, I prefer texture to color.

Well one can of course have both; and - at no extra cost!

This is just the kind of thing that's been on my mind recently (with respect to clothing, that is). You look very comfy and relaxed... all while wearing a jacket & tie. Well done.

Nice look Will, although the blazer buttons wrinkled a nostril, I will admit.

I am especially impressed by your excellent choice in neckwear. That Atkinson stripe is marvelous both for color and texture in this context.

Cotton hosiery presents a certain kind of uncomfortable annoyance to me that one may avoid if sensitive, but the choice of cream I think is quite debonaire.

Thanks.

Well done.

Blue on white graph check?

I see the blue on white check. What does the graph mean in relation to the shirt?

That type of check looks like what was once known as (and may still be known as) graph paper, used for drawing graphs by hand.

I have been unable to read your site since late March. Why in the world has A Suitable Wardrobe been blocked in China? Alas, I only recently learned to use proxies.

Jackets should just clear the backside (buttocks) and shouldn't be any longer.
