Habitues of the internet's clothing forums who have never been in Honolulu know of Leather Soul, Hawaii's leading purveyor of classic shoes for men. In just five years, proprietor Thomas Park has built an international reputation selling Alden, Edward Green, Weston, Gaziano & Girling and, most recently, John Lobb from a jewel box of a shop in Waikiki's Royal Hawaiian Center.

I hoped your itinerary would include Leather Soul. Since first learning of his business through your blog, I’ve admired the beautiful collection of sometimes unique shoes that Tom has assembled for sale. And while the Internet is indeed everywhere, I’ve fanaticized about how grateful certain individuals would be for a well chosen East Coast physical presence. But Tom seems to understand his business well, and no doubt is aware of the pitfalls of trying to replicate a very personal business while geographically removed.
I don't know if it's just me or if anyone else, like me, goes into fibrillation when they see beautiful shoes laid out before them...
