Spring has been in the air for some time, which means it is time for men to change to a lighter scent for the season if they have not already. Personally, in warm weather I wear Acqua di Parma Colonia, a lemony scent with a floral undertone that hasn't changed since its origination in 1916.
I wear the stuff because it stays on the skin for a while. I no longer wear the scent I best like to sniff, Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet, a delicate combination of pine and floral notes. Unfortunately, Blenheim Bouquet dissipates in an hour, leaving me wondering why I bothered.
By the way, I cannot say enough good things about the ladies at The Perfumed Court, who specialize in offering decants of virtually every fragrance under the sun so a man can try fragrances before buying a full bottle. I went through dozens of them before settling on the ones that work for me.
And in spring, that is Acqua di Parma Colonia.

Will: Because of you, I tried Aqua Di Parma in various scents. I settled on the Intensia as it does stay with you for a long time. In the warmer months I now am using the Mediteranean scents from them in fig (fico), orange(Arancia), and a Capri ocean scent( Mirto). All are very nice and can be combined together with any of their fragances to give a unique and enjoyable bouquet. Thank you.
Aqua di Parma now comes in several variations such as Assoluta. Have you tried those?
kds, I have not. When my current inventory looks ready for replenishing I will test them, but too much scent at home just means most of it goes musky before it's used.
The candles although large, are also fantastic and are a great choice for a larger apartment.
Glad to know its back in season!
I wore Colonia this morning. On the way out the door my wife mentioned how good I smelled.
Colonia is unique in that it's seemingly impossible to offend anyone. It only gathers compliments.
Thanks Will. Maybe someone may deliver a bottle to me this Father's Day. ;-)
BTW, you mentioned Penhaligon's. Ever use their Endymion shaving cream? I bought some this February and it's still my favorite.
I regularly wear Colonia year round. I tried Assoluta before; it lasts longer, but it smells different from the original.
