A very well dressed gentleman wrote the other day asking for more details on an ASW post on the combination of a green necktie and a gray flannel suit (Gray and Green).
A few days later he illustrated his own essay on the London Lounge with a gray pin striped suit, a horizontally striped shirt and a high contrast orange necktie.
High contrast is best on sunny days of course, in keeping with the general surroundings. Here is a version of that sunny day combination.

A High Contrast Combination

The color of the tie is too much for me but I must admit you dress the nicest DBJs I have ever seen.
Thanks for keeping posting

Not my cup of tea. A bit jarring.
While that shade of, of- kumquat

is a bit strong one can imagine a day for it and I am sure you have your reasons Will.
I really like the shirt, even if one is so sorely tested to merely see it by the optical stress provided by the tie.
Agree about the DB, of course.
Very nice grey suit!
Is there a buttonhole in both lapels?
I think the issue is that for most men, orange is a "love it or hate it" color. It does not flatter many, and even those whom it does may not like the flashiness of some shades.
Still, for those who like it, orange is a multi-season color, appropriate for every time of year except winter, and can even work then on clear, bright days.
P.S.: I, too, love the suit. The double buttonholes are a nice touch, and that's a beautiful roll on the lapel.
I think that combination looks pretty sharp. What belt/shoe combination would you recommend? Maybe a London tan?
DBs should always have a buttonhole in both lapels nemuritai.
I believe I wore that with either espresso brown or black shoes but London tan would also complement the light gray.
As already mentioned, nice DB suit!
I am wearing an orange Hermes tie at the moment, so I can only appreciate yours.
But:
Personally, I never wear striped shirts with striped suites! It may be alright here because of the horizontal stripes, but otherwise its almost everytime a pain in the eye.
With a grey suit go for Violet. It really goes with grey, much better than red. I also loke a grey Prince Of Wales with a grey suit
