The necktie in the photograph is a bespoke combination of red stripes on gray in a textured mixture of silk and linen, folded six times and lined with wool so it drapes beautifully.
A dozen were ordered last Spring. It proved virtually impossible to crease the material cleanly and the English maker unfortunately lost his proverbial shirt before finally delivering seven of them this month. There will be no more.
3.25 inches wide by 56 inches long (that's 8 cm by 142 cm) and $140 each, including shipping in the continental United States.

The tie looks beautiful. What colorways are the others in?
That's a surprisingly reasonable price.
When you say that "It proved virtually impossible to crease the material cleanly " what do you mean exacly? Does this mean that the tie will now hold its shape better than the average tie? Will wrinkles be removed more effectively? What are the advantages and attributes of a silk/linen blend as this is the first time I see this.

I am interested. Is there a chance that we can see this tie with a Pratt-Shelby knot? 6-fold lined with difficult to crease material has me curious about the size of the knot when tied. 8cm is reasonably narrow and the knot would need to also be reasonably narrow.
Beautiful fabric and I can definitely see this tie accenting many different jackets.

I mean the fabric makes a three fold all right but doesn't want to crease into a six fold. There is significant wastage of expensive fabric.
Mjor, the tie knots beautifully and most of them are sold already today so if you do see it in a Pratt knot it will be around my neck sometime in the future. :-)
