At the highest level, clothing should be enjoyed for its beauty. And of the things potentially in a man's closet, bespoke shoes are for me simply wearable art.

Beautiful, though the brownish one in background must be moderne kunst.
As the rainy/snowy weather approaches in the Pacific Northwest what footwear should a stylish gentleman wear to keep his feet (and wool trousers) dry? Surely there must be a better alternative to Sorels?
Dashed unattractive the pair of them, in my opinion.
Aaron, a pair of cordovan boots will do for the wet, but piles of snow call for overshoes.
Will,
are these suitable for actual wear? Do they hold up well, or are they museum pieces for the foot?
Like the brown shoe in the back. When talking about beautiful shoes,by me the shoe of this fall is a pair of brogue boot, something like the Grenson Sharp Brogue Derby Boot.
Aaron you need swims - colourful overshoes that protect from heinous, shoe-unfriendly weather and then you can wear what you like!
Or have a pair of Norwegian or Storm welted boots made for you with a three eighths sole...they are as close to water proof as you get in handsewn footwear.
Whatever you do avoid the snow and more importantly the SALT as much as possible. Those stains are hard to get out or hide.
Sean, bespoke shoes from a world class maker are made from the best leathers and will outwear anything else you can put on your feet.
These shoes are just spectacular!
