The 6x2 overcoat, by which we mean a coat that has six buttons on the front with two of them functional like the camel colored version worn in the photo by HRH Prince Charles, is probably the most common double breasted style.
Compared to coats with three or four working buttons it exposes more shirt front, so, despite the example set by the Prince, a scarf is desireable lest a stream of cold air cause chills.

I found DB overcoat are very distinguished look that adds great warmth. Here PC is seen adorned in an exceptional design. The shoes of the king in waiting are well polished. Will, what are your impressions of the suitability of oxblood red color for business shoes?
Oxblood, the very dark red with black overtones, is fine for city suits in my opinion. I am wearing a pair of oxblood semi-brogues today.
And all the better if it, and not just being a Prince, tows a woman in fur hat and boots. . . .
Will, I'm curious: when measuring a DB suit, vest, or coat, does one take into account the unexposed buttons underneath that anchor the flap beneath? Or is it simply the buttons that are showing?
I prefer the chesterfield but am at the moment getting the Covert coat in blue from Tyrwitt
