Thanks to Jesse Thorne at Put This On for introducing me to INVENTORY, perhaps the tastiest contemporary clothing scene I have so far encountered on the Web.
Inventory has been working with a few smaller manufacturers, such as American tie maker Alexander Olch, to produce an edited selection of items for sale. My personal favorite is a brilliantly conceived pair of blue suede shoes with red brick soles. $350.

Yup, those are Mark McNairy's buc's. He's the creative director of J. Press (which i'm sure you know) who has been branching out on his take on contemporary menswear. Some of it is fantastic, other stuff is rather well not fantastic. Check it out and I would love to know what you think.
I like that you can't bring yourself to call blue shoes "bucks." ;)
Very tasty! While I abhor menswear designers on principle, I must say McNairy is capable of some interesting and attractive articles. Light years ahead of what I see other American designers doing in terms of real, wearable clothes adapted from the lexicon of traditional American men’s clothing. A few years ago he had Press do a SB peak lapel Harris Tweed suit with a ticket pocket.
A classic? In 1981 I bough a pair of seemingly identical shoes in NYC and loved them.
OMG those look amazing and I want them so bad. :(
Cool magazine too, thanks!
