Made to order clothing's dirty little secret is that a man has to be prepared to absorb the cost of periodic failures. After all, he is ordering from swatches, and not every decision will prove to be correct.
Case in point, the otherwise beautifully executerd Gaziano & Girling slip-ons in the photo, which were intended as a prototype for an ASW casual shoe offering with a textured apron. Sadly, neither the colors or the textures work well enough together.
They may be wearable given enough brown polish but for now it is back to the drawing board.

What don't you like about them, Will? I think they're quite attractive.
Will, please say more what you don't find as compelling about the shoes.... they look quite attractive.
Comforting to hear even an expert ends up with something that doesn't work out. By the by, is ASW going to have any boot offerings?
Not bad.
Sorry they didn't work out, Will. They are otherwise beautiful shoes.
got it wrong.they are ok. Theres plenty of shoes like this
Bespoke customers should be steered away from such mistakes.
Assuming you didn't go out on proverbial limb contrary to advice this doesn't reflect well on Messrs Gaziano & Girling at all.
Mr. Brown you would be correct were they bespoke. But they are a wholesale sample ordered by a customer who is supposed to know what he is doing, and G&G is hardly to blame.
To those who wonder what I don't like, let us just say that the color combinatioin is not attractive enough for me to offer them for sale.
Very gracious of you. I was wrong footed by your opening line there.
On the shoe I take your point regarding colour combination. I'd also add, with the texture contrast and braiding feel there is too much 'going on'.
Some people like that sort of thing, I for one find it overly fussy.
Nice color tone, but not necessarily a pair that I would covet.
