It is a sign of the drought we are having in Northern California when it is halfway through the rainy season and there had until yesterday been no reason to wear rain gear.
Yellow Macintosh, estate tweed cap, a cashmere glen check scarf and rubber soled bluchers. No gloves, as I was about to light a cigar.

Rain

I like the casual way you've tied the belt, rather than buckling it. There's something fussy looking about buckled belts on coats.

Will,
What outerwear garment would you prefer wearing during snow? I live in Sweden, so it would have to tolerate rain, snow and cold (down to 15 F). Thanks for a great blog.
Adam
Looks like Sea Ranch.
Adam, there is no single garment that does everything but a raincoat with a zip-out lining may come closest.
I love the yellow. It gives the whole picture something very cheerful, despite the drab weather.

Good to see IT is still in the blood Will.
A macintosh will help you see a forecast, and mackintosh will help you deal with a poor one.
The last time we saw your banana raincoat, you buckled it; this time, you tied it. Which felt better, more secure? Which do you think looks better?
Will ... the Mac looks great. Still contemplating whether or not mine will be too "yellow" for London next week. What do you think?
Will, when's the school bus coming? ;-)
Seriously, great raincoat. We could have used that coat yesterday afternoon in NYC.
Whose coat?
Tieing the coat is marginal as the belt is a bit short. But it looks better IMO.
The coat is from Alan Flusser. It is very yellow for the city, but not inappropriate if, as Mr. Seitelman suggests, you don't mind looking like you're directing traffic.
I envy you the trip ADG, though not the weather. Two more weeks before they will let me travel again.
Too yellow for London?
Nothing is 'too' for London, it's a question of whether the wearer can carry it off or not.
If you're doubtful, the answer's 'not'.
That said London is a big place and in the City particularly there are only a few I know that can.
I think the coat is fantastic and just what I've been looking for. I've tried to find a vendor with no luck. Are these fabulous coats still made?
