It was another Spring-like day even though winter had not officially ended, and Spring is perhaps the best time of year to experiment with color. Discreetly, one hopes.
Here is an orange on gray linen and silk necktie paired with a navy mohair and wool suit, a light blue royal oxford shirt and a white linen and cotton handkerchief with a green border.

looks nice. Isn't the tie wool and silk? I find posts like this helpful because I seem to falter in the no man's land before the shoulder seasons are in full swing.
I like the idea of the discreet color, however this is almost too discrete. Maybe a hint of orange in the pocket square would have helped?
Orange in the square would have been too coordinated for my taste.
JC, the tie is linen and silk. The linen gives it a slightly slubby texture.
Will,
Where do you "stand" on tie dimples?
Are they a must for you, and if so, do you take it far as to undo your tie and start over if one side of the dimple has more material than the other side?
Again, just curious.
Regards,
Sam
I dimple, from longstanding habit. My ties are accustomed to it and cooperate.
