Unlike the late Aristotle Onassis, my necktie is knotted in a four in hand. But today I am also walking down Fifth Avenue in a navy double breasted, and, after six months when I have been unable to travel, it is good to be back.
I think I will pull my breast pocket handkerchief up to make it showier now.

Enjoy your visit, Will, and the momentarily brisk spring weather. You might stick your nose into Paul Stuart on 45th and Madison if you find yourself near. Perhaps gone a bit Euro-youth, but still some fascinating odds and bits for gentlemen of style.
Will, are you making a pilgrimage to Turnbull & Asser and Oxxford?
The Oxxford Store is about to have a "sample sale", and there are quite a few goodies. Perhaps they will let you make an advance purchase?
If you go, mention my name.
A bit off topic, but are we to believe that Mr. Onassis looks stylish in this photo? The entire ensemble looks ill-fitting and bland...
Brigadier, if you are able to judge the fit of a suit from one photo of a man walking with hands in pockets you are better at it than I.
No doubt I'm the inferior judge, but remember you've only entered one photo into evidence.
The question remains: is this a stylish look? Both the jacket and trousers look baggy, and the latter appear to pool at the ankle. The word that comes to mind is frumpy. Many of my cues on style and fit have come from your blog; but this photo (if not the suit itself) doesn't seem up to snuff.
In any event, I wish you well in the city.
Reasonable men may disagree Brigadier. I see a candid photo of a man who did not wear braces so his trousers have fallen a bit. The jacket fits perfectly if one's eyes are not conditioned by the tight-fitting look of today. And the ensemble is no more bland than other evening clothes, indeed I usually wear a dark blue satin necktie, white shirt and dark blue suit at night myself.
So while I did not intend to represent Mr. Onassis as stylish per se, neither do I see anything amiss other than the trousers. And those should be a lesson for us.
