An Experiment with Color

Out came the brown cotton suit again this past weekend, for an experiment with purple and orange in combination.

E&G Cappelli necktie with a purple ground and an orange silk square are worn with a club-collared brown on white striped shirt. Light brown Edward Green bluchers and a wheat-colored Milan braid hat from Chicago's Optimo Hat Company complete the picture.

Personally, I find this combination much more appealing than the pairing with the green/purple stripe tie. Looking good Will.

The color combination of the suit, shirt, tie, handkerchief, and shoes is pleasing. I must say, and I cannot account for it, but somehow the hat is throwing me off. Perhaps it's the lighter color of the straw hat. The gray band of the hat is coordinated with the shirt, yes, but the purple and orange seem to make the outfit more...fall/winter.

Stylin' as always, though, Will.

I really like the combination of purple and brown (as previously explained here). Echoing Sightspeed Guy, I would probably have chosen lavender in the spring and summer.

The shoes are perfect.

The club collar is the one little detail that makes the whole outfit sublime.

The hat? I love the hat, though I have never been a fan of leaving the brim down in back. Personal preference.

terrific, adore brown and purple and the suit fits wonderfully.
Personal taste detail: If it were my suit i would cut the sleeves the slightest bit shorter, like to show some linen

At that distance and in that light, I couldn't really see the pocket square; had issues with the hat, however. First, the color of the hat, I feel, is too light for the suit, Secondly, I think you need to experiment with different styles of hats (brims, specifically) as that makes your face look bottom heavy, to me.

I think the color of the hat is fine. But i would definitely like to see some shape to the hat. At first glance it appears that it is fresh out of the box. That hat needs some shape! be a bit more bold with the your brim and crown styles.
