Another great tutorial. Looks like I have a new small project to add to my to-do list.
I usually have to relace every pair of shoes I get even from the english makers such as G&G, EG, Cleverly, Lobb etc. They seem to do a quick lace job with one lace starting at the bottom and going straight up to the first hole. Very difficult to tighten in this manner. Good instruction Will.
Tony, that is what is called display lacing. It looks good in a store but doesn't secure the shoe very well otherwise.
Great video again Will, I love getting home and checking what you've posted, really enjoyable blog. Great to find someone else so enthusiastic about Menswear.

Will, thank you for your grear work.
However, one question - why do you have your shirt's cuffs irones with a crease?
If you iron them flat they have a much nicer way of lying around your wrist...
Will, you are a multimedia juggernaut! You are also my example of why videos should be used.
Many thanks!
All my dress shoes are "display" laced because that's how I was taught to do it at about eight. I'm too old to change.
Mine are display laced too, as I was shown as a lad, with no discernable trouble with tightening. But, really, as I write this I conclude is just may be a rationalization in response to this post for my being too lazy to change some 25 pair. Where's my gentleman's gentelman?
You're rocking my world, Will.
Excellent!
You made my appearance a bit more stylish.
Regards!

I personally like to use oxford style lacing for sneakers, deck shoes, etc. Gives them character.
