Speaking as we were about bow ties earlier this week, Bill Neukom, the San Francisco Giants managing partner, was apparently the inspiration for pitcher Tim Lincecum. Neukom has assembled a collection of them in the Giants' orange and black.
One generation teaches another, as it should be. The photo of Lincecum entering the stadium before his big game, by the way, came in from David from Pennsylvania.
By the way, did I mention that the San Francisco Giants won baseball's World Series Monday evening?

In that picture Tim certainly does not look like a Cy Young winning World Series pitcher....looks more like an Asst. Prof. But gotta like th outfit!
ALSO to note, prominent Fox sportscaster Ken Rosenthal chose to wear great looking suits with bowties throughout the Series too!

It is really most encouraging to see, Will. How much better would sporting heroes appear if they always wore suits for the paparazzi? Clothes don't make the man, but they help!

P.S. I've also made use of that photo. Hope you don't mind sharing the wealth.
Decades past atheletes always wore suit and tie to and from the stadium. The NBA now requires the players to dress appropriately. Many of them wear suit and tie. Derek Fisher of the World Champion Lakers almost always looks good. He wears a suit and tie regularly. BTW, Tim's Bowtie almost looks like a clip on!
Now if we could get NFL head coaches to dress like Tom Landry did with the Dallas Cowboys; I still look at his images to remember what things were like.
Agree with Tonyp - looks like a clip-on;
I know it isn't a clip-on.
GREAT POST…!!!!!THANKS A LOT
