I am a little tardy in recognizing it but a few days ago was the fourth anniversary of the first A Suitable Wardrobe post. The first readers were a few men who knew me from the Ask Andy About Clothes forum, in those days the heart of the sartorial internet. Today, about 50,000 people from every part of the world visit about 300,000 times a month, which I find rather unbelievable.
We have all come a long way in four years. I don't know how much longer I will be able to keep coming up with topics of interest every day but I hope the journey has been as rewarding for you as it has for me.

Great job Will! Keep it coming. Phenomenal numbers, but by no means undeserved.

I, for one, will continue reading as long as you continue writing.
My sincere thanks for the past few years of sartorial enlightenment.
Congratulations upon reaching this milestone, your success is well deserved. And thank you for providing this enrichment to my life and to the lives of so many others.
Regarding topics; I think I understand some of the difficulty in trying to create something new and original over 300 days a year. It seems it would be an almost impossible task. I, for one, enjoy the infrequent times when you’ve revisited past topics, and would find more frequent returns equally rewarding. We’re all on a journey, and I’ve known few men with sartorial interests who’ve not grown and gained additional and different insights on topics as they progress. I think we all welcome what you wish to share of yours. Your musings are just as valuable as your judgements.
Great blog Will. You keep writing I'll keep reading. There are still loads of unexplored themes. Perhaps you could ask some guest bloggers to help you out.
Happy Anniversary, Will! I've been here for a while and enjoy everything I read here. Best wishes and hopes for many more anniversaries!
Best wishes and your anniversary, Will.
Now, will the collected wit and wisdom of Will appear between two hardcovers?
Will,
Fours has gone by quickly, I am a big fan of your commentary and humor.
Now is the time for you to start making more video documentaries.
I would love to see you interview the few remaining small Harris tweed weavers.
Then you could go to France and show us pocket squares being made.
Then you could ......
Congrats, Will. Look forward to my daily ASW. Four years passes quickly......
Perhaps expanding the scope of the blog to include grooming, drinks, food, well you know. Carry on Old Man.
Congratulations, Will! I am only 3 posts in to my blog, and I'm already exhausted. Much respect and kudos to you for posting every day. I think you should reward yourself with a pair of Cleverley butterfly loafers.
I look forward to many more thoughts on dressing with style, especially those regarding shoes.
Congratulations! May you never get writer's block; may you continue to find topics; and may you always have more clothes in the pipeline.
Long may you blog!
Congratulations on the milestone, Will. Great blog. You could write about some of those great eateries in San Francisco. In my experience, good writers are typically not restricted by a theme, and I would wager the quality of your writing would not be restricted by men's style.
Will, I know you have a number of female readers. Venturing into the world of tailored women's clothing open up many new potential topics. Perhaps a guest blogger if that is not something you care to explore?
This is very impressive Will.
One post every single day is something that only men with a huge level of creativity and an amazing knowledge can afford.
My congratulations.
Regards from Spain

Congratulations.
Would it be possible to include some kind of index to past topics?
Percy
Will,
Your blog has become part of my daily ritual. Because of you I am more informed and less prone to make misjudgements Sartorially.
Thank you very much for your contributions.
Can I offer a few requests/suggestions for postings?
1. Diagnosis. You suggest combinations for items of clothing of your readership.
2. It is a while since we had a follow-up to the wardrobe from scratch.
3. I'd like your suggestions for building up a pocket-square collection after white linen has been obtained.
4. As above but for ties post dark-blue. Should silver really be in my first three purchases?
5. Best of RTW? From outside the US if possible.
6. Umbrellas.
7. Follow-up on your custom messenger bag.
Will
Congratulations! I've been a reader since almost day one.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on very cold weather winterwear - gloves, hats, boots, etc. I know youve spent some time in Chicago, and I'm in similarly frigid Montreal. I'm not entirely sure how I should be suitably dressed for my walk to work when its below zero with snow on the ground.

All the best,Will!
It's been a great four years, Will. Congratulations.
a great milestone.in these days of sartorial challenged individuals and folk eschewing style and substance for the dreadful "designer wear",it must feel like a millstone sometimes to come up with ideas, but that you do with aplomb.bravo.francisco okwesa
That is a great news! My congratulations! keep going! You do very good thing!
Congratulations from Rio de Janeiro
Very well done Sir!
Today is my 42nd birthday and I only began the sartorial lifestyle after I turned 40. Your blog is one of several that I now follow. ASW has taught me many of the fundamentals which has helped improve my wardrobe.
After reading your blog I now know how to determine if a suit fits me correctly . Recently I acquired a my first sports jacket, a 3 year old second hand Magee silk wool blend that fits me rather well. It had it's first outing yesterday to an office Christmas dinner party. Worn with a blue formal shirt and navy/tan paisley tie, dark indigo jeans, and tan coloured italian hand made monk strap shoes (also second hand and since resoled). A colleague thought they were brand new.
To be honest I was a bit nervous that someone would deride my appearance with comments like “you're growing old before your time”, but there were no negative comments, only positive ones about the shoes and dark jeans. The jacket was never mentioned!
I think this proves the point about wearing correct fitting cloths and not looking like you're trying. The experience has emboldened me to continue developing my sartorial knowledge, with your continued input of course.
Thank you Will.
Will
you can stop in about 20-30 years from now!
Congratulations, Will! ASW (not to be confused with anti-submarine warfare -- though I suppose a blog post on what the well-dressed U-boat hunter is wearing might be interesting) is one of my favorite sites on the whole Interweb.
Historically-themed posts are always my favorite, next to the time earlier this year when you discussed the things a man should own for the sake of the woman in his life.
If you have to scale back, fine, but don't stop!!! We rely on a rare voice of insight and understanding of real style in a world of 'Old Navy' and need your voice!!
This is a great blog. You have clearly been giving a great many people a great deal of pleasure. Many thanks! Please keep it up. [When I can afford it I'm going to buy something from your online store.]
Some possible ideas:
1 What are the relative merits of 2 vs 3 buttons on a SB jacket. 3 seems to be able to carry more structure, but 2 seems more relaxed. 3 roll 2 seems strange and awkward to me.
2 Are there any general rules regarding stature? e.g can a tubby short guy carry off a DB jacket etc.
3 Braces (suspenders) seem to me to be the obvious solution for mature men who want to be comfortable and well-dressed. Why don't RTW clothing manufacturers make suitable trousers (and therefore suits) for us?
Definitely keep this going even if you have to subcontract occasionally in order to have a holiday.
Congratulations and happy anniversary.

If you run out, re-run some old stuff; but, in no event stop writing. Your blog is not only useful but entertaining.
Will,
Congratulations! Your blog is a valuable contribution and resource for the sartorial arts and I hope you continue to publish even if it's only to revisit already covered topics.
Mark
Congratulations from a devoted reader, Will.
Although, as Charles said, some advise on proper attire for military submarines would be welcome, I hardly think there ever is a shortage of topics as far as clothing is concerned. I myself am a believer in the ethos of wearing the basics with style and creating variety through details (you mentioned proponents Diego Della Valle in a recent post and A. J. Drexel Biddle in an old one) as opposed to the constant hunt for new suits to give the wardrobe variety (I came to realize the pointlessness of this approach through this blog, specifically the recent Bunny Rogers post). Your posts on acquiring the basics and then moving from there has been very helpful to me, but, as Michael Harker suggested, the topic is hardly spent.
Alongside blogging about your new commissions, purchases and whatnot, you could focus on the first years of wardrobe building. This area of sartorial knowledge has been thoroughly explored by men's fashion magazines but not to my knowledge by an independent writer focused on classic, timeless dress (as opposed to fashion).
