And a Pink Carnation...

Marty Robbins, who wrote the 1957 song about white sport coats and pink carnations, might have been proud this week for pink carnations of watered silk newly abound at the ASW store, together with their white relations. They are just in time for prom and evening wedding boutonnieres respectively, joining the dark red versions that have been popular among ASW store customers these past six months. In Accessories.

Pink carnations may not be the first harbingers of spring in the real world but they are at the store. A few new Cappelli neckties have arrived, to be followed by some of Michael Drake's knits and then masses of new things for the season over the coming weeks.

I hope to see you at the store.

I have the red carnations and love them. I wear them almost every day to work or church. If flag pins are appropriate to wear in the lapel, carnations surely are. It is time for men who care about their appearance to stop allowing others to dictate what is appropriate. Wear a carnation and stand up for what is right!

Will, thank you so much for expanding the color choices! Is there any chance you'll modify the three for $20 package to let us mix and match colors?

That unfortunately is not practical. If there is demand I could perhaps offer a mixed box in the future with one of each color.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping for. In my experience, silk flowers last indefinitely. So, unless these are inordinately fragile, I'm not sure why someone would want three of the same color. But would quickly order a package with one of each color.

They may not wear out but they tend to get misplaced. In my experience, three of them last for perhaps half a year.

I'm with Johnny: I'd love to be able to order a mixed-color set.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't misplace any of my watered silk flowers, as my personality is the type that is called "obsessive," "meticulous," "Type A," and/or (least flatteringly) "retentive."

And if I did happen to lose one, I'd soon order a replacement set.

And now that you have provided the mixed set, it will go on the Christmas wish list as a suggestion for my financially challenged relatives who don't know what to get me. Splendid,Will, just splendid.
