There are two men in style in today's photograph as André Churchwell leaves Nashville's historic Union Station Hotel on a fine sunny day with his brother Keith. The hotel began life in 1900 as a passenger terminal for the eight railroads that served the city and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In keeping with the venue, André wears a lightweight tan worsted flannel double breasted suit with a cream rope-stripe by Leonard Logsdail. It is complemented by brown and white spectators and a straw porkpie hat with a white linen band.
Keith is wearing a an ivory silk peak lapelled jacket by Ralph Lauren Purple Label, bespoke dove gray flannel trousers by Alan Flusser and suede slipon shoes from Paul Stuart.

Great photo. If it was black and white, I'd swear it was of the era (maybe '30s or '40s). Those trousers look a bit long and baggy, or perhaps they've just been caught mid-flap.
The grey pants do see a little long.
The best dressed pair of brothers I’ve ever seen. Though perhaps the gentleman on the right might show a little less PS. The tan DB is remarkable, though I couldn’t wear it. Could the shirt and tie be a tad more subdued? Who cares! Bravo!
We could focus on what we object to—pants too long, tie too loud, whatever—or we can look at two men who care about what they wear, who think about what they wear, and learn something from their examples.
Neither one fits the English notion of well-dressed: you notice they're dressed well, but 15 minutes after you part, you can't quite remember what they were wearing. But both are showing their personal panache, and look great.
I think the lesson here is to find our own sartorial voices, as they have found theirs (and Will his, obviously). We should be inspired by the example of well-dressed men, always remembering to adapt, not adopt.
Thank you for these wonderful photos. They truly illustrate why men should make an effort to dress well.
If you were passing these men on the street you would feel impelled to greet them, or at least nod your head, as men sometimes do, in respectful acknowledgment of gentlemen. Splendid.
I like double breasted suits, hats, white sports jackets and suede shoes so this post was a real jackpot for me. In addition, I contributed to the Historic Structures Report, the guidelines for the restoration of Union Station, in 1980 when it was an abandoned, pidgin-filled wreck. __ The Devoted Classicist
The hotel is a must for architecture buffs. I toured
it after attending a wedding in the Smokey Mts.
a few hours east. The next time I visit Nashville
I plan to stay there. The rates were also very attractive. Regarding the brothers, they're probably the best-dressed gentlemen in Nashville, and possibly the Mid-South.
Both look fantastic in the round. Picking pepper out of fly poop is a bit superfluous.
Picking pepper out of fly poop?
"Picking pepper out of fly poop..." Methinks Joe is referring to nitpicking.
Will,
I can't tell you how much I enjoy this series of "men in style". How you find these gems is an intrigue, but please do continue.
Great inspiration.
As for "pepper out of fly poop"...I'm all for it. These guys look great. Finally, Americans looking far more elegant than the rest...as it should be. Not to offend my kindred Europhiles, but I do hope this catches on more than the wal-mart look that is becoming so common in Europe now.
American style at his best!
Seems a living Esky fashion plates.
Why Usa men apparel don't back to this style?
Is sad that in this days also the great Ralph Lauren is converted to skinny cut.
