There are still men who dress to brunch, and André Churchwell is one of them. On this occasion he is wearing a tweed jacket with side vents in a small checked pattern that is popular now in unusual colorings. Light yellow gabardine trousers, olive vest with lapels and flapped pockets, denim shirt, hunting pattern necktie, tasseled slipon shoes and a pinched crown porkpie hat complete the outfit.

This is the sixth time that you have featured Andre Churchwell, and every time he is featured it seems as if his sartorial acumen becomes even more flawless. I know few men who dress well, and few who are great dressers, bit Andre and his brothers seem to be in a class of there own. They combine unusual elements, conservative timeless ones, with some less conservative elements, and yet they dress with such a flair and confidence that in their style is timeless. Other than the Duke of Windsor, I can not think of anyone who dresses so well.
He looks great, and I love the jacket.
The brothers Churchwell could've sauntered straight out of the better issues of Apparel Arts. I've never been much of a pattern mixer, but they illustrate that it can be done very nicely indeed
Will,
I'm curious if you know where one finds carnations that small, and how those compare in size to the silk ones in your e-store. I like that small size for everyday use (as opposed to special occasions) because it's so understated.
Forgive me, but I'm not sure that is a 'Porkpie' hat.
Just one word for the Churchwell Brothers:
AMAZING.
I agree, they dress very well and continue to look great. I love the look of an odd waistcoat. Where do you get all these photos?
I have the same question as Tim, where are you getting all these photos? These guys are amazing dressers. They are almost too amazing. Who walks around posing in there clothes all the time as they seem to. I think they are a little over the top and appear to be exhibiting too much flair.
Gentlemen, the Churchwells had been accumulating photos for a book for several years and have graciously allowed ASW to publish some of them.
Johnny, Dr. Churchwell's carnations are from the ASW store.
I hate to be the odd man out, but I think this is over the top. From a distance (the small shot in the blog), it looks fine, but close up (the linked larger shot), it falls apart.
Each individual piece is wonderful, and most of the combinations are great, but the overall effect is too busy for me.
I love the socks, for example, and they go well with the trousers and shoes, but they're too much for the outfit as a whole. To my mind, they would be better as the pleasant surprise to a more conservative outfit.
Above the waist, it's all great--except for the shirt, which just doesn't go. Normally, one piece that doesn't fit in is not a fatal flaw, but here, with so much going on, I think everything needs to be a bit more unified. Change the shirt, and all the juxtapositioning could come together. (Exquisite jacket, by they way, and the vest, trousers, shoes, and hat go with it beautifully.)
Pick nits though I may, I enjoy seeing these pictures, and I would much rather see a well-dressed man like this than the garden variety slob that overpopulates the rest of the world. Dr. Churchwell could teach them much.
