Dark Brown for Summer Suede
Summer is the season for slip-on shoes, and they tend to be relatively common in the traditional summer colors: tan, chestnut and even black and white and brown and white spectators. Comparatively rare is dark brown suede like that of the Sloops in the photo, which is odd as it is one of the best shades for casual dress-up days when paired with compatible trousers like the blue cotton pair in the photograph.
Above the knees, a light blue voile shirt, linen necktie, silk pocket square, the jacket that matches the trousers and the usual Panama hat.

I love these shoes, and they are great for the summer months. My favorite brand definitely has to be Sperry Top-Sider.

Dear Will,
this is the third post in a row in which you mention you panama hat.
Are you going to show us? :§)
Lorenzo
socks???
Frankly Will, love the shoe but the color blue looks odd with those shoes. I think a tan or chestnut might look better. Maybe its because we are only seeing it from the leg down. Next time give us a fuller pose.
A pair of "my favorite socks" in blue with brown from the ASW store.
sorry, i meant: why socks? not with these shoes.
Because it's Northern California and the temperature was only 60 degrees. :-)
will, imho, these shoes should be worn without socks. so change the shoes or get rid of the socks (i am from mediterranea)
GG, it sounds like you have found a style that works for you. So have I.
I'm with Will on the socks thing. I don't have particularly sweaty feet, but I still don't want to grind bacteria or dirt into the insoles of my shoes.
To my mind if socks are thin and breathable, they can manage hot weather, just like my cotton or linen trousers can.
Looks good, but for the cat. :)
I do feel deprived without the full shot.
Sorry, but I just don't get the "no socks" thing. Perhaps my feet sweat too much for it to be comfortable for me.
I have a pair of thick cotton socks with an open weave that are excellent in hot weather. The open weave breathes, leaving my ankles and calves cool, and my feet are more comfortable than in thin socks that cannot absorb as much moisture.
Besides, socks just look better--and come in more patterns and colors :-)
