Some Things Don't Change
Trousers are all about line. From the hips they should ideally fall straight to the floor or to any break they may have at the ankle.
In the photo, Sean Connery as James Bond wears a pair of what were known as Conduit Cut trousers that look essentially identical to my Neapolitan trousers of 2011.
Half a century may have passed but some things don't change.

As fashion traverse from high waisted to low waist from belts to braces from this to that.... the classics remain the same. This style of trousers and gray suit with light blue shirt and dark blue tie are still the core of any classic wardrobe.
Is not the tie too short?
Your trousers never slip down half an inch during the day?
Actually I keep my braces adjusted just right, and indeed they don't. I'm not great about all things sartorial, but this one I'e got down pat.
On a different note, Will, do you have anything to day about the shirt cuffs?
@ Daniel.
I do. They're Turnbull & Asser turnbacks, introduced to Connery as Bond style by the director Terence Young.
Roger Moore wore them too in The Saint on occasion and they sometimes have little buttons on them to hold them down - like a button-down collar. Not sure if that style is T & A though.
@Roger
All of Roger Moore's shirts were made by Frank Foster. He made the button-down cuffs for The Persuaders. Sean Connery also wore Frank Foster's button-down cuffs in Never Say Never Again.
Tie length looks right.
That side view was a great addition Will. Shows well the conical shape's origin starting at the top.
Perfecto. The elephant ankle pants one sees everywhere are my particular hate. But you're only going to achieve perfection with braces. The tie length is perfect, almost too perfect.
