G. Bruce Boyer and Maria Cooper Janis were feted at Leffot, the shoe store in Manhattan, earlier this week. Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist hosted a book signing party for the co-authors of Gary Cooper: Enduring Style, which will be officially available November 29.
Boyer, seen here with another expert, is the dean of English language menswear writers and his 1990 book Eminently Suitable should be on the shelves of anyone with a serious interest in classic men's clothing.

Awesome scarf on Flusser... and have he and Graydon Carter been seen in the same room?
They have indeed. But only one was wearing a blazer at the time.
Does anybody else think that the two most well-known writers on men's style dressed..., well, badly for this event?
Maybe it's just me, but I mean it's a formal signing event about style. Gary Cooper, no less. And well, both Boyer and Flusser are at an age where New York hip and the High school dean looks out of place. I think they owed it to themselves and their profession to have had a stronger presentation.
