Complementary Colors
We see men dressed entirely in shades of blue with some frequency, but other complementary colored ensembles can be equally effective. For example, the pocket square pattern in the photograph is a little too small but I was otherwise happy with this combination of buff, tan, brown, red and just a bit of black the other day (I was happier still when the square was replaced with a black and white checked silk that afternoon).

At one time i had seen someones wardrobe on here that was very very well done sorted by colors, shirts, suits ect it was versitle and inexpensive. I am looking for that link again if anyone remembers it i am trying to build my husbands and sons wardrobe for sun meetings and get togethers.
Will,
Wonderful. The shirt is the perfect color for the outfit, and ties it all together beautifully.
Leander,
I don't recall the post you're talking about, but if you want to build a versatile wardrobe based on just a few colors, I would suggest the following:
Shirts: blue, white, or blue and white.
Suits: navy or gray.
Trousers: gray.
Socks: gray or navy (match to pants).
Odd jackets: blue, gray, or blue-gray mixes.
Shoes and belts: black.
Ties: anything with a navy ground.
Though perhaps simple, it'd be really hard to put together a discordant outfit from such a wardrobe.
I understand, What would your thought be in matching and putting together outfits. I just want them all to look good and well put together, Not someone who looks like it was put together last min from goodwill. although you can get some great stuff there I just can not color and outfit match which is why i love this site. all i remember about the site was it was someones closet photo and it showed well orginized shirts in color cordination then the suits and ties and the shoes that went with it. it was his whole wardrobe
@Leander, texas
