Another Day, Another Gray
Another day, another mid-gray suit. This one is 9.5/10 ounce cloth from H. Lesser via Thomas Mahon. It is paired with a tan nailhead shirt and a Drake's madder necktie that looks better next to the lighter color than it did with the charcoal that surrounded it the first time I wore it (sometimes it takes a couple of tries before new additions find their place in a wardrobe).
Worn with tan Bresciani socks a la Cary Grant, and plain Cleverley oxfords.

To my eye, everything looks good except the tie. The tie may be new but the color & pattern makes it look dated, like something out of a 1940's movie.
And you think that isn't deliberate?
Nothing wrong with the style of the '40's. I call it a good choice.
Black shoes with a grey suit, just how I like to see it.
It is indeed a rather wild tie, but it jazzes everything up nicely. A meek-looking tie with a mid-grey suit would be a dull affair.
Is that a button tab collar I see hiding underneath your tie? Or does the collar have two buttons on it?
Yes, it is a tab collar.
