The effect would have been different if he had been over 6 feet tall and 260 lbs. Another is that the Duke, if he had worked a regular office job, would have chosen more restrained combinations. This is in no way intended to disparage the Duke of Windsor.Jayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09612541448578453410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4593388140454867428.post-23989047164280994002007-09-24T10:11:00.000-07:002007-09-24T10:11:00.000-07:002007-09-24T10:11:00.000-07:00Thank you for this post. Recently I have been watching the movies coming out of Asia / Hong Kong and I have to say that in China and Japan, among others, the mixing of patterns in the various layers of traditional costume are really gorgeous. I keep hoping to find a contmporary western equivalient that does not look like a nineteenth century vonwotanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04054884273829054391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4593388140454867428.post-5539976319670576802007-09-20T12:47:00.000-07:002007-09-20T12:47:00.000-07:002007-09-20T12:47:00.000-07:00great post. thanksgreat post. thanksJohnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03961930732125748800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4593388140454867428.post-85345889618955143562007-09-19T10:32:00.000-07:002007-09-19T10:32:00.000-07:002007-09-19T10:32:00.000-07:00A fine post, thanks. I have half a dozen books on his life and style. His autobiography, A King's Story, devotes half its space to his clothes, and is as good a reference as comes to mind.Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01173316804999411413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4593388140454867428.post-27350741020903796672007-09-19T09:52:00.000-07:002007-09-19T09:52:00.000-07:002007-09-19T09:52:00.000-07:00Great post Will. One of the suits is a subtle windowpane pattern incorporating burgundy, hunter green, and light blue. The blue stands out, but the overall effect is quite muted. You have mentioned the Duke of Windsor. What reference works have you found Laguna Beach Tradhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08027025872132699493noreply@blogger.com
