Love astrakhan, love the idea of a fur collar, but, like JC, I'm not sure that this cloth will work with astrakhan.

If, when wearing fur, any intolerant PETA member accosts you, just look aghast while you tell them it's very high-tech artificial fur. There's no need to tell the truth to someone like that.

This coat looks as if it came off a Russian grand duke. The styling is way too tailored. Take a look through some of these books of bw illustrations of Edwardian menswear. They are full of illustrations of looser cut coats with Astrakhan collars that look fantastic although given the climate I don't see much opportunity to wear one in SF.

Great coat! "no" on the fur unless you spend time in Siberia - the coat is gonna look great with or without it -so it's down to functionality.
