You might also want to check out F. Rock Bags. They make custom messenger bags out of suit fabrics and leathers. I have one made of blue pinstripe and a mahogany brown leather. The interior pockets snap and unsnap which so I can use it for both work and as a weekend bag.

And for comedic relief, I also posted the bag my 78 year old grandfather made me for my 27th birthday.

Will, I'm a neurologist and we all keep our equipment/tools in the classic doctor's black bag. Might this firm design a bespoke black bag. Mine is twenty year's old, designed by Eli Lilly! Any ideas in this sphere?

This looks like a very interesting sideline from the normal course of this blog, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who will enjoy reading about it.

Have you decided on a color? It seems to me that a darker shade, perhaps in the burgundy range, would be more masculine than something light, like maple or English tan. Something in the brown range would allow for a patina to develop as well.

Just my 2¢.
