I didn't even realize this until stepping into Allen-Edmonds a few months back and picking up a belt that matched my oxfords. I was pleasantly surprised.Turlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04466952089423973036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4593388140454867428.post-51504542735475466832008-02-25T15:47:00.000-08:002008-02-25T15:47:00.000-08:002008-02-25T15:47:00.000-08:00I actually think that non-calf belts are potential...I actually think that non-calf belts are potentially more wearable. The April in Paris belt you show has many hues of brown, gold, and red in it, making it easier to match with a variety of brown shoes. Moreover, when a calf belt doesn't match a pair of calf shoes, they just clash. By virtue of being made from different materials, you dont really expect an alligator belt and calf shoes to be the M. In my opinion, not only does this clasp clash with the belt buckle in the most unappealing way, but I have seen some horror shows where the belt buckle does not even match the color of the clasp on the shoe.Johnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03961930732125748800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4593388140454867428.post-23537284988266098572008-02-25T07:41:00.000-08:002008-02-25T07:41:00.000-08:002008-02-25T07:41:00.000-08:00I, too, find the belt buckle to be a distraction p...I, too, find the belt buckle to be a distraction particularly if the wearer does not know what he is doing. The last two suits I purchased have been beltless and I will continue to purchase suits with no beltloops. Besides, the beltless trousers give the suit a bespoke look and feel. Then there's the added burden of matching the belt buckle (gold or silver) with other jewelry such as the watch, Johnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03961930732125748800noreply@blogger.com
