Creed can sometimes be a bit "much". There are a few I like (Green Irish Tweed, for example), but the others are uninspired including, alas, Vintage Tabarome.

Have you tried Czech & Speake's "Cuba?"

I think it bridges the gap between vintage Tabarome (which I find difficult to wear) and the new version (which I dislike).

Cuba's bottle is horrible so perhaps it could be decanted into the lovely old Creed flacon!

(I'm an admirer of C&S's Number 88, which is one of the handful of colognes I like to wear)

I am considering a smaller 8ml spray bottle at your suggestion. But the 1.7oz bottle at $400 is too dear for me despite my own profligate way. :-)
