From Jason Most of the people in my office wear the typical worsted or gabardine trousers but I like the texture and look of flannels. Are they versatile enough to wear year round as a primary odd trouser (save for the warmest of days)? Pretty much - I wear flannel in the fall almost exclusively. I find the mottled weave more interesting than most worsteds. Of course there are minor negatives.
